Porting emCORE to a new device is generally a lot of work and requires lots of experience with embedded system development.
The exact amount of work needed varies greatly and depends on the complexity of the device and similarities to devices that emCORE has already been ported to.
Additionally as emCORE is deprecated and Rockbox should be used instead, there is no reason you should be waiting for an emCORE port on the iPod nano (6th generation).
An exploit has been found S5Late and a modified version made to work with the iPod nano (6th generation) exists. (find it here S5Late-8723) there is some work in progress to getting it to work with wInd3x and getting Alpine Linux booted on it (not emCORE for now).
